Elizabeth Dogan Neely died peacefully at Trinity Health Care Center on November 2, 2017. Mrs. Neely was born on September 9, 1923, in Grenada, Mississippi to Dave and Elizabeth Dogan. She married Joseph Harmon Neely and raised her family in Grenada
, where she was an active member of All Saints Episcopal Church. She served on the Altar Guild and was a founding member of the Grenada Junior Auxiliary.
In her later years she lived in Tucson, Arizona, where she enjoyed time spent with her family there, including her two special great grandchildren, JC and Dani. She returned to Mississippi where she spent her final years in Columbus
.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Neely was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Harmon Neely, her brother Dave Dogan, sister Lucy Whitten and her granddaughter Elizabeth Smith.
She is survived by her four daughters, Elizabeth Westin and her husband Dennis of Tucson, Arizona ; Josephine Harper and her husband Bobby of Columbus , Mississippi; Kay Boteler and her husband Lee of Aurora, Colorado; Ann Smith and her husband Stan of Anacoco, Louisiana and one son Joe Neely and his wife Linda of Ridgeland, Mississippi
. She also leaves behind twelve grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Friday November 10, 2017 at 11:30 AM at All Saints Episcopal Church 469 South Main Street Grenada, Mississippi
with Reverend Anne Harris officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service in the church parish hall.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to the caregivers of Trinity Health Care Center for their loving compassion given to their mother. Remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
