Johnnie M. Brooks

COLUMBUS — Johnnie M. Brooks, 63, died Nov. 1, 2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle. Services for Mr. Brooks will be at 1 p.m. Nov. 5, 2017, at Fairview Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Gillon and Rev. Kevin Jenkins officiating. He will be buried in Friendship Cemetery. A native of Columbus, Johnnie was born Oct. 16, 1954, to the late Joanne M. Brooks. He was previously employed with Cox Service Center and Tenn Tom Auto Sales. He attended Caldwell High School. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Columbus and visited several other churches in the surrounding area.

Johnnie was known by many and would always say “Hello.” He spent his time at church and the race track. He loved to ride his bicycle and in his younger years was known to travel as far away as Meridian and Verona to be able to see a race.
