Elbert Amos Rushing, age 82, of Columbus, MS, passed away at home,
Thursday, November 23, 2017. A celebration of life service will be held at
6:00 pM & the service starts at 6:30 PM , Thursday, November 30 at State Line
Baptist Church. The address is 7560 182 East Columbus, MS, 39702.
Brother Robert Gillis will be officiating. Family & Friends may come
from 6:00 until 7:00 PM , Thursday at the church. Memorials may be made to
St. Jude Children's Hospital.
Elbert Amos Rushing was born May 13, 1935, in Longview, MS, to the late
John and Rosie Freshour Rushing.
Amos is survived by his wife, Deborah Rushing of Columbus, MS,
children, Stephanie & Brandson Smith of Steens, MS, Jason & Misty Wilkes of
Columbus, Eddie & Angie Rushing of Caledonia, MS, Marty & Kathy Rushing of
Columbus, MS. Seven grandchildren, Rylee & Deegan Smith, Gavin Ray,
Savannah (Bobb) D'Alessandro, Sunnie Rushing, Ashton & Danielle Rushing,
Great Grandchildren, Jace Farmer, Robbie D'Alessandro, Sister, Margie
McClain of Eupora, MS.
Amos was employed with Phillips Construction for over 30 years as a
Shop Forman & A&R Construction for 10 years. He also enjoyed attending
church, reading his Bible, spending time with his family and friends and
riding his motorcycle. Amos was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and
friend to all.
