JEAN GRAHAM
Jean Mathis Graham passed away peacefully on December 13, 2017 at Crestpark Retirement Center in DeWitt, Arkansas following a lengthy illness with Parkinson’s disease.
Services will be held Saturday December 16, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Covenant United Methodist Church in Columbus, with Rev. Gene Bramlett officiating; burial will follow at Memorial Gardens of Columbus. Visitation will be held Saturday one hour prior to service at the church.
Mrs. Graham was born on January 10, 1928 in Pickens County, AL to Bannie and William Wood Mathis. After graduating high school in Millport, AL Jean attended Birmingham Business College in Birmingham, AL. She married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life Sidney Ray Graham in 1946. They made their home in Columbus, MS. She was a vital part of the family business Graham Fabrics in Columbus. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church where she served as a faithful member. She was a devoted wife and mother who will be remembered for her thoughtful consideration of others, her kindness and her loyalty to family and friends. She was an inspiration to her family, and possessed a genteel spirit as a lady of spiritual wisdom and knowledge. She exemplified this with much grace and dignity during twenty-four years with a debilitation disease. In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by her daughter Barbara Graham Harlin.
She is survived by her daughter, Belvia Graham Rodgers, (Charles) of DeWitt, AR, Grandsons, Shan Rodgers, (Sabrina), of DeWitt, AR, Bradley Rodgers, (April), of Stuttgart, AR, Brian Rodgers, of Little Rock, AR, John Harlin, Jr., of Chicago, IL, and granddaughters, Susannah Pace, (David) of Tupelo, MS, and Graham Harlin, of Nashville, TN. Her son-in-law, John Harlin, of Franklin, TN, great grandchildren, Tripp and Tory Rodgers and Drew and Kathryn Rodgers of Arkansas County, AR, Corinne, Lilly, Camille, and David Pace, of Tupelo, MS, and Harlin and Louise Suscha of Nashville, TN.
The family would like to express their appreciation for all her caregivers that have shown much love and devotion to her.
