DOYLE SPEARS

Doyle L. Spears, Jr., age 84, of Columbus, MS, passed away December 24,
2017, at Aurora Health & Rehab.  Funeral services will be Friday, December
29, 2017, at 2:00 PM at Covenant United Methodist Church with Rev. Gene
Bramlett officiating.  The interment will immediately follow at Friendship
Cemetery with military honors.  Visiation will be from 12:30 PM until the
time of the service at Covenant United Methodist Church.  Memorial Gunter
Peel Funeral Home and Crematory 2nd Ave. location is in charge of
arrangements.
Mr. Spears was born July 9, 1933, in Clarksdale, MS, to the late Doyle
L. and Ila K. Cummins Spears, Sr.  He was a veteran of Korea serving in the
United States Army.  Mr. Spears retired from APAC as a superintendent and
was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church.  He loved music and
enjoyed playing the guitar, singing, fishing, hunting, and was an Ole Miss
Rebel fan.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Spears was preceded in death by
his sister, Virginia Bollinger.
Survivors include his wife, Johnny Faye Spears of Columbus, MS,
daughter, Tara Olivia Spears of Olympia, WA, nieces, Cheryl Wright and Lynn
Breitigan, and nephews, Anthony Bollinger, Eddie Bollinger, and John
Bollinger.
Pallbeaers will be Max Watson, Alton Pannell, David Sansing, John East,
Bob Herron, and Bobby Wright.
Honorary pallbeaers will be L. C. McGee, Sammy Townsend, B. A. Atkins
and the past and present employees of APAC, members of the Pathfinders
Sunday School Class, Plantation Pointe neighbors, Bonnie Mason and employees
of Kindred Hospice.
