Karen Elizabeth Taylor Maxey, age 40, of Crawford, MS, passed away
January 12, 2018, at her residence. Funeral services will be Friday,
January 19, 2018, at 2:00 PM, at Memorial Gunter Peel Chapel College St.
location with Rev. David Honeycutt officiating. The interment will
immediately follow at Memorial Gardens of Columbus. Visitation will be

Mrs. Maxey was born April 17, 1977, in Columbus, MS, to Jack Lindsey
Taylor of Columbus, MS, and Ila Kay Taylor of Columbus, MS. She worked as a
mail carrier for the U. S. Postal Service. Mrs. Maxey was a member of the
Bread of Life Fellowship Church and enjoyed volunteering at the Cedar Hills
Animal Sanctuary. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather,
Clifford Wade Hiett, and sister, Maria Ann Taylor.
In addition to her parents, survivors include her husband, Shawn Maxey
of Crawford, MS, sons, Kyle Maxey and Jay Maxey of Crawford, MS, maternal
grandmother, Annie Ruth Hiett of Columbus, MS, paternal grandfather, J. T.
Taylor of Columbus, MS, and paternal grandmother, Gladys Pearl Taylor of
Columbus, MS.
Pallbearers will be Allen Stephens, Jimmy Edmonds, Heath Crenshaw,
