Jean B. Godfrey

Jean B. Godfrey age, 90, died Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Trinity Personal Care in Columbus MS. Services will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Gunter Peel 2nd Ave N. Chapel with Rev. Michael Shelton officiating .Burial will follow at Meadow Branch Cemetery in Kennedy, AL. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 12:30 PM  until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Godfrey was born on Thursday, March 24, 1927 in Millport, AL to the late Dr. W.W. and Trudy Belle Miller Blakeney. She was a member of Sovereign Grace Baptist Church and a retired seamstress for Seminole Manufacturing. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Hammond Godfrey and her granddaughter Laura Lee Godfrey.

She is survived by her children, Jeanette Hill (Cecil), of Columbus, MS, W.L. Godfrey (Dale) of Columbus, MS, Jimmy Dale Godfrey (Carolyn) of Millport, AL, Douglas Godfrey (Jeanette), of Lake View. AL, Doyle Godfrey of West Point, MS; grandchildren, Douglas William Godfrey (Mary), Steven Brown Godfrey (Staci), Caleb Alan Myers (Lindsey), Emily Myers Dickerson (Buster), Blakeney Seth Myers, Christopher Lee Godfrey (BB), Paige Godfrey Speed (Adam), Brandy Gordon Shelton (Michael), Kim Gordon Vice (Jason), Jerry Gordon, Blake Hill (Brooke), and Curtis Godfrey (Chelsea); and 18 great-granchildren.

The Pallbearers will be Caleb Myers, Seth Myers, Douglas Godfrey, Steven Godfrey, Chris Godfrey and Curtis Godfrey.
