S.D.”BUDDY” HAYS
(Steens, MS) Spartan Davis "Buddy" Hays age 84 died Monday, January 22, 2018 at Monroe Regional Hospital in Aberdeen. Services will be held Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Piney Grove United Methodist with Bro. Andy Tentoni and Bro. James Black officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites, will follow at Piney Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church.
Mr. Hays was born on Monday, June 26, 1933 in Steens, MS to the late George Vernard and Antoinette Leech Hays. He was a lifetime and active member of Piney Grove United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a retired employee of United Technologies after 34 years of service. Mr. Hays was a member of the Caledonia Masonic Lodge #280, the Lowndes County Cattleman’s Association, Steens Civic Club, and served on the New Hope School Board for 17 years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Luther Jackson Hays and George Laurice Hays.
