David K. Forbes
August 30, 1930 — February 2, 2018
at Baptist Memorial Hospital. A private family graveside service will be
held at Memorial Gardens of Columbus. Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home &
Crematory College St. location is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Forbes was born August 30, 1930, in Newport News, VA, to the late
Anderson and Edith Forbes. He was a veteran of Korea serving in the United
States Navy. Mr. Forbes retired as a Navy Chief of Police. In addition to
his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Newman Forbes.
Survivors include his daughter, Susanne Levister of Columbus, MS, and
grandchildren, James K. Kight, Jr. and Sarah E. Kight, both of Columbus, MS.
