13, 2018, at Windsor Place. A memorial service will be Thursday, February
22, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Gunter Peel Chapel 2nd Ave. location with
Bro. Caleb Hughes officiating. Visitation will be from noon until the time
of the service.
The son of the late Willis Frank and Annie Pearl Sanders Oaks,
Mr. Oaks was born February 11, 1943, in Columbus, GA. He was an Air
Force veteran and managed many rental properties. He was a member of
Springhill Baptist Church of Millport, AL. Mr. Oaks was preceded in death
by his daughter Tami, and his son Keith.
Survivors include his fiance' of 32 years, Willodean Atkins, daughter,
Dr. Pam Sykes and her husband Greg, step daughters, Cheryl Atkins, Kathy
Maddox and Pamela Beeksma and her husband Brian, grandchildren, Matt,
Hunter, and Sarah Katherine Sykes, Taylor Hutcherson (Matt), Kelsey Maddox,
Tyler Riley (Carlee), Sam Riley, Emily Beeksma, Jake Beeksma, Ian Beeksma,
and step grandchildren, Sam and Aldyn Daum.
Pallbearers will be Pete Riley, Tyler Riley, Sam Riley, Brian Beeksma,
Jake Beeksma, Ian Beeksma, Greg Sykes, Matt Sykes, and Hunter Sykes.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Pullen, John Armstrong, Hal
McClanahan, Randy Stacey, Mike Stone, and Travis Broocks.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1380 Livingston
