Walcie B. Porter
December 19, 1929 — March 2, 2018
Mr. Porter was born December 19, 1929, in Fayette County, AL, to the late Ermon and Essie Taylor Porter. He was a veteran of Korea serving in the United States Army. Mr. Porter worked as an electrician and in maintenance at Baptist Memorial Hospital for many years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Anita Porter, and sister, Eulene Hester.
Survivors include his daughters, Teresa McCown and her husband Dennis of Steens, MS, Cathy Lancaster of Columbus, MS, and Angela Carver and her husband Jeff of Steens, MS, sister, Alice Brandenburg of Spring, TX, grandchildren, Jamie McCown and his wife Meg, Cory McCown and his wife Taylor, Bo Lancaster, Jr., Kayla Carver, Kelly Leonard and her husband Justin, and Keifer Carver, and great grandchildren, Bentley Leonard, Austin McCown, Aubree Leonard, Evan McCown, Olivia Carver, and Cam McCown.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
