William Douglas "Doug" Wilcox, age 77, of Ethelsville, AL, passed away
April 21, 2018, in Ethelsville, AL. Funeral services will be Friday, April
27, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Bill Hurt
officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Forest Cemetery in
Ethelsville. Visitation will be Thursday, April 26, 2018 , from 5:00 - 7:00
PM at Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory College St. location.
Mr. Wilcox was born November 20, 1940, in Ethelsville, AL, to the late
James T. and Hattie Gore Wilcox. He was a graduate of Liberty High School
and was a farmer for all of his working life. Mr. Wilcox was a member of
Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and the Men's Sunday School Class. In addition
to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Wilcox.
Survivors include his wife Norma Croft Wilcox of Ethelsville, AL,
brother, Dr. Sammy Wilcox and his wife Linda of Columbus, MS, nephews,
Charles Wilcox (Kate) and Sam Wilcox (Sara Beth), and great nephew, Walter
Wilcox.
Pallbearers will be Guy Wilcox, Terry Wilkins, Charles Wilcox, Sam
Wilcox, Dennis Cunningham, Gene Barton, Mike Gore, and Tommy Lee Gore.
