Bubbie Yelverton Douglas Anderson “Bubbie” Yelverton, Jr., age 52 passed away Sunday, May 13, 2018 at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Memorial Gunter and Peel Funeral Home, 2nd Ave. North location in Columbus, MS. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at Main Street Presbyterian Church in Columbus with Rev. Todd Matocha and Bro. Jeff Morgan officiating, burial will follow at Mayhew Cemetery. The son of Jean Herrington Yelverton and Douglas Anderson Yelverton, Sr. Bubbie was born on November 17, 1965 in Columbus, MS. He was a graduate of Heritage Academy and Mississippi State University. He also attended Louisiana State University and Louisiana Tech University in conjunction with his work in the agricultural environmental industry. Bubbie most recently worked as a cattlemen in Lowndes County . He was a member of the Mississippi Cattlemen’s Association and on the Board of Directors of Lowndes County Farm Bureau. He was a member of Main Street Presbyterian Church in Columbus, MS and attended Artesia Baptist Church in Artesia, MS. Bubbie is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Lenore Stover Yelverton and Peter Anderson Yelverton of Mayhew, MS, maternal grandparents, Vivian Meadows Herrington and George Leo Herrington of Smith county, MS, his great aunt, Touie Stover of Mayhew, MS, his uncles, Carroll Herrington and Elton Herrrington and cousin, Karl Herrington. Bubbie is survived by his wife, Patti Yelverton; daughters, Katie Weir and Kasey Laine Stotts; his parents, Jean and Doug Yelverton; sister, Mary Grey Yelverton Fletcher; grandchildren, Anderson Lake and Bella Laine Pritchett, and Coby Laine Stotts, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Pallbearers will be Penn Kennedy, Bo Richardson, Bill Harrison, Wesley Weir, Justin Cannull, W. T. “Bubba” Brown, Jay Burchfield, John Norris, Chad Scruggs, Bob Caldwell, Sam Sanchez.
