Robert Linwood Butler, age 86, of Columbus, MS, passed away May 22,
2018, at his residence. Funeral services will be Friday, May 25, 2018, at
2:00 PM at Memorial Gunter Peel Chapel 2nd Ave. location with Rev. Kenny
Gardner officiating and Kenny McDaniel assisting. The interment will
immediately follow at Memorial Gardens of Columbus with military honors.
Visitation will be from
12:30 PM
until the time of the service.
Mr. Butler was born October 5, 1931, in Lowndes County, MS, to the late
R. A. and Neely Ware Butler. He was a veteran of Korea serving in the
United States Army. Mr. Butler retired as a truck driver from CECO and was
a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was
preceded in death by his wife, Lee Evelyn Butler, and daughter, Lisa Butler.
Survivors include his son, Robert W. Butler and his wife Jody of
Columbus, MS, daughters, Debra Bowen of Columbus, MS, Robbie Lovell of
Columbus, MS, and Delilah Ponds and her husband Buster of Ethelsville, AL,
brother, William Butler of Columbus, MS, sister, Lunett Nickoles of
Columbus, MS, grandchildren, Chad Moore, Lance Moore, Justin Butler, Chelsea
Ponds, Caleb Butler, Brittney Ponds, Dusty Ponds, and Carley Ponds, and
great grandchildren, Hayden Moore, Landon Moore, Jackson Moore, Sawyer Jane
Moore, Eva Jean Moore, Carson Butler, and Kameron Butler.
Pallbearers will be Justin Butler, Buster Ponds, Chad Moore, Lance
Moore, Ricky Speed, and Ricky Nickoles.
