DAVID BROWN
David Ray Brown, age 62, of Columbus, MS, passed away May 29, 2018, at
his residence. Private family graveside services will be Saturday, June 9,
2018, at 10:30 AM at Friendship Cemetery to celebrate the life of a man who
truly enjoyed helping others more than himself. Memorial Gunter Peel
Funeral Home & Crematory 2nd Ave. location is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Brown was born February 9, 1956, in Breckenridge, TX, to Dorothy
Lee Brown of Steens, MS, and the late Elmer Willis Brown. David moved to
Mississippi as a teenager. After 13 years in the Navy traveling the world
over, the call home to his friends and family in Mississippi was too strong
and David came home for good over 30 years ago. Throughout his life, those
that knew David, understood him as a man who would do whatever he could to
help others through grand gestures and small deeds alike. In addition to
his father, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Veronica "Ronnie"
Petree Brown.
In addition to his mother, David is survived by his wife Cessney of
Columbus, MS, son, Daniel Brown and his wife Leigh of Dallas, TX,
stepchildren, Jeremy Gates of Philadelphia, PA, Miranda Thompson and her
husband Jake of Ethelsville, AL, and Paul Rosselot of Columbus, MS,
grandchildren, Mithell and Griffin Brown of Dallas, TX, brothers, Kenneth
Brown of Tibee, MS, John Brown and his wife Carol of Steens, MS, and Richard
Brown of Columbus, MS, along with countless other friends and family.
