NELL CALDWELL

Frances Gaynell “Nell” James Caldwell, age 87, of Columbus, MS, passed away May 31, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital.  Funeral services will be Monday, June 4, 2018, at 12:00 PM at Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home Chapel 2 nd Ave. location with Rev. Charlie Whitney officiating.  The interment will immediately follow at Friendship Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.

Mrs. Caldwell was born February 20, 1931, in Birmingham, AL, to the late Hilborn Wilkins and Bertice South James.  She was a graduate of Lee High School.  Mrs. Caldwell retired from the Lowndes County Tax Assessors Office as an appraiser and was a member of Grace Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Perry Ernest Caldwell, Jr., and sister, Virginia Sharp.

Survivors include her sons, Perry E. Caldwell, III, and his wife Ann of Columbus, MS, Jeffrey L. Caldwell and his wife Joyce of Columbus, MS, and Tony Caldwell and his wife Sue of Raymond, MS, brother-in-law, Bill Caldwell of Columbus, MS, grandchildren, Mason Caldwell, Perry Caldwell, IV, and Wade Caldwell, and great grandchildren, Casimir Caldwell-Jenco and Claude Caldwell-Jenco.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
