Ruth Blalock Bailey
December 15, 1916 — July 21, 2018
Mrs. Bailey was born December 15, 1916 in Lamar County, AL, to the late Robert Hunter and Mattie Lou Logan Blalock. She worked for many years at Ruth's as a seamstress and was known for her work on wedding dresses and pilgrimage dresses. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Finton Stephenson, daughter, Virginia Ewing, brothers, Robert Blalock, Jr., Cecil Blalock, and John Wallace "J. W." Blalock, sister, Hilda Pendley and grandsons Steve Bell and Timothy Ewing.
Survivors include her husband, J. C. Bailey of Columbus, MS, daughter, Kay Bell, son, Danny Bailey, sisters, Flora Blalock, Hazel Lawrence, and Pat Burt, brothers, William Eugene Blalock and Jimmy Blalock, grandsons, Jon Ewing, and Bill Bell and granddaughter, Beth Wookil.
Pallbearers will be Barry Ryals, Jerry Bailey, Lucas Judson, Jason Rustin, and Clay Bailey.
