EMILY SHULL

Emily Falkner Shull, age 93, died Thursday, August 02, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS.. Services were held Saturday, August 04, 2018, at 1:00 PM at Main Street Presbyterian Church with Rev. Todd Matocha officiating, with burial following at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday one hour prior to service at the church.

Mrs. Shull was born on Tuesday, July 28, 1925, in Starkville, MS, to the late James M. and Robbie Clark Falkner. She was a member of Main Street Presbyterian Church and served as a Sunday School teacher, Women's Circle leader, and a member of the choir for 50 years.

Mrs. Shull was employed as office manager at Belk-Hudson Department Store, and office manager at Columbus Eye Clinic. After her retirement, she served as a Pink Lady Volunteer at Baptist Memorial Hospital for many years.

Known by most as "Miss Emily," she always saw something positive in everyone she met. She loved singing old hymns from the time she was

a little girl in Pontotoc County and would join her Pop Daddy at the old timey church singings. It is such a reassurance to know that as a Christian, Miss Emily has joined her beloved husband of 73 years in heaven. As she would have said to all of us, "I love you to the moon! Now go with God!"

In addition to her parents and three brothers, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Lafayette “Billy” Shull; granddaughter Laura Joy Jacob; and great-granddaughter Hannah Elizabeth Herring.

Survivors include:

Sons: David Shull (Mary), Hattiesburg, MS, James Shull (Beth), Crystal Springs, MS, Robert Shull (Celeste), Woodstock, GA

Daughter:

Nancy Jacob (Fred), Brandon, MS

15 Grandchildren

22 Great Grandchildren

Sister-in-law, Ann Falkner, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be:

Ben David Jacob, Will Jacob, Andy Shull, Bennett Shull, Charlie Shull, Hank Shull, Jonathan Shull, Michael Shull, Derrick Whittington, and Will Whittington.
