Richard Lee Coleman

November 7, 1964 — August 5, 2018

Richard Lee Coleman, 53, unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2018, at Perdido Beach, Alabama.

Richard was  a dedicated father and a loving husband, who was  suddenly taken from this world and those he loved. He can ultimately be defined as a selfless and devout Christian finding life’s purpose in serving others and living righteously with the Lord as his shepherd.

Richard was known to be a man devoted beyond measure to those he treasured, oftentimes setting aside his own comforts and desires to care for those he cherished. Through inspirational qualities of uncompromising tenderness, warmth and affection, Richard sought to uplift the spirits of those he cared. Richard had a tranquil soul, always spoke kindly of others, and saw only the best parts in people. During recent days, Richard found true happiness in creating everlasting life memories as he sought to fulfill his dreams of pursuing a hopeful and fresh beginning with his loving wife and his new family.

He was born on November 7, 1964, in South Carolina, to Jimmy Richard and Bessie Lucille Coleman. Richard graduated in 1982 from Lee High School in Columbus, Mississippi. He was lovingly known by his peers as “Tidy Bol”. Richard attended Mississippi State University and subsequently moved to Jasper, Alabama, where he worked at the Wal-Mart Distribution Center for 27 years.

Richard was preceded in death by his wife of 29 years, Ramona Davis Coleman; and parents, Jimmy and Bessie Coleman.

Richard is survived by his wife, Michelle Coleman; son, Bryan Coleman; brother, David Vice; and stepchildren, Ashley Reeves, Audrey Moeckel and John Hill.
