Murline Gibson

MURLINE GIBSON – Murline Swartz Gibson, age 77, of Artesia, MS, passed away August 18, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital.  Funeral services will be Saturday, August 25, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Gunter Peel Chapel College St. location with Rev. Ben Yarber officiating.  The interment will immediately follow at Beersheba Cemetery.  Visitation will be from noon until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Gibson was born March 23, 1941, in Columbus, MS, to the late Herman and Stella Faulkner Swartz.  She retired from Franklin Phone Company of Artesia and was a member of the Artesia Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil T. “Sonny” Gibson.

Survivors include her son, Joe Gibson and his wife Lisa of Columbus, MS, daughters, Lynn Thompson of Columbus, MS, and Lisa Stuart and her husband Robert of Macon, MS, brothers, James Swartz of St. Augustine, FL, Bill Swartz and his wife Karen of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Roy Daniel Swartz of Tuscaloosa, AL, sisters, Wanda Glover and her husband Tim of AL, and Callie Sue Curley Wilson of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, grandchildren, Sarah Pittman and her husband Zack, Bo Thompson and his wife Jenn, Holly Campbell and her husband Clint, Stephanie Smith and her husband J. C., and Casey Nail, and great grandchildren, Alaina Lynn Thompson, Reagan Smith, Stella Smith, Tucker Smith, Caleb Click and Norah Thompson.

Pallbearers will be Bo Thompson, Casey Nail, J. C. Smith, Robert Stuart, Clint Campbell, Wesley Gibson, Scott Thompson, Zack Pittman, Greg Morse, and Chris Summa.
