ELEANOR WALTERS

Eleanor Reeves Walters age 83 died Thursday August 23, 2018 at the University of Alabama Birmingham Medical Center.

Services will be held Monday August 27, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Woodland Baptist Church with Bro. Bo Bankston and Bro. Shelby Hazzard officiating; burial will follow at Memorial Gardens of Columbus. Visitation will be held Monday from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the church.

Mrs. Walters was born July 16, 1935, near Gattman, Mississippi to the late Susie Lee Nowlin and Dudley Reeves. She graduated from Greenwood Springs High School where she was Valedictorian and also graduated from OTS Business College in Memphis,TN.

She retired after 44 years from Sanderson Plumbing Products as Traffic Manager.

She met the love of her life in high school , C.W. Walters; they had been married 64 years at the time of his death. They were charter members of Woodland Baptist Church were they served several positions. Mother was a Sunday school teacher, church treasurer, and organist.

In addition to her husband and her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, James Tipton Reeves.

She is survived by her daughter Eleanor Kaye Walters Keen,(Jim), her granddaughter Eleanor Claire Keen Young,(Carson) and great grand children Addison Reeves Young and Luke Walters Young,

She also leaves a brother Dudley Truman Reeves, Erma Lee Reeves Hamilton, and Mary Sue Reeves Jones and a host of nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jim C. Thompson, Mark Hamilton, Phillip Hamilton, Ken Jones, Ronald Jones, Glenn Miller, Doug Reeves, Terry Reeves.
