Dorothy Tucker Pilcher

Mrs. Dorothy T. “Dot” Pilcher, age 89, died Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at her daughter’s home in Foley, AL. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be Monday, September 17, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Main Street Presbyterian Church. The service will follow at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary of Main Street Presbyterian with Rev. Craig Barnard officiating. Interment will be at 2:00 PM at French Camp Cemetery, French Camp, MS.

The daughter of the late J. W. and Mary Pevey Tucker, Mrs. Pilcher was born November 22, 1928 in Tillar, AR. She was the Valedictorian of her senior class and played on the girls’ basketball team in high school. She also enjoyed playing the piano. She was a longtime member of Main Street Presbyterian Church and Happy Hearts Seniors Group at the church. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one sister, three brothers and her husband James Russell Pilcher, who died November 16, 2007.

Mrs. Pilcher is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Johnice P. and Eddie Shumaker of Foley, AL and several nieces and nephews.
