Robert Glenn"Bobby" Miller, Sr., age 90 of Columbus, MS, passed away November 15, 2018. Graveside services, with military honors, will be Monday, November 19, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Brooksville City Cemetery with Rev. Curtis Bray officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, November 18, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory, College Street location.
Bobby was born June 18, 1928, in Columbus, MS, to the late Aven P. and Ella Lucile Glenn Miller, Sr. He was a 1946 graduate of S. D. Lee High School and Mississippi State University. Mr. Miller was a veteran of Korea serving in the United States Navy. He formerly owned and operated Miller & Son Nursery and Miller Marine. Mr. Miller served for many years with the Coast Guard Auxiliary and was a charter member of the Tombigbee Stump Jumpers Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, A. P. Miller.
Survivors include his son, Robert Glenn Miller, Jr. (Jan) of Columbus, MS, daughter, Jyl Miller Barefield (Greg) of Columbus, MS, grandsons, Robert Glenn Miller, III, (Jeanie) of Columbus, MS, and Casey Dennis Barefield (Amanda) of Nashville, TN, great grandchildren, Kate Ross Miller of Columbus, MS, and Micah, Silas, and Noah Barefield of Nashville, TN, niece Bonnie Ronan(Tom) of Everett, WA, nephew, Steve Miller(Dru) of Everett, WA, and sister-in-law, Beverly Miller of Everett, WA.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kirk McKellar, Richard Watkins, Dickie Thompson, William Roberts, Vee Ferguson, Betty West Land, Frank Burris, Jerry Lavender, Kenny Kidder, Leonard Ingram, and former and current members of the Tombigbee Stump Jumpers Club, Coast Guard Auxiliary, and S. D. Lee High School Class of 1946.
